Waterjet Operator

Spherion Washington is hiring for a 1st Shift, Waterjet Operator position in Canonsburg, PA. The pay rate is $20.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

Imagine a power washer so strong it doesn't just clean—it slices through 4 inches of solid steel. As the operator, your job is to "tame" that power to make sure the parts come out exactly like the blueprints.

What you'll do:

• Operate waterjet machine
• Operating controls to tell machine where to move and how fast to cut
• Place large sheets of raw metal onto machine and remove the sheets when they are cut
• Smooth the rough edges on the metal
• Setting offsets to make sure the cut is where it needs to be
• Reviews blueprints to understand the size and shape of the part you are making
• Meet quota or production rates
• Quality control for malfunctions and reports any issues to management

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or GED

Physical:

• Safely move and handle large, heavy metal sheet, plate and parts,Lift 50 lbs at times

Related Experience: Waterjet experience is a plus, CAD programming to draw/adjust shapes the machine will cut, Forklift, Basic math skills- adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra, Blueprint reading understanding, Knowledge of using calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales, Attention to detail
