Waterjet Machine Operator

Spherion is hiring a Waterjet Machine Operator in Washington. The Waterjet Machine Operator position offers a pay rate of $18 to $21 per hour. This position will rotate between first and second shift. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity.

Description:

As a Waterjet Machine Operator you would be using a waterjet machine to cut through metal to create parts

What you'll do:

• Operate waterjet machine
• Operating controls to tell machine where to move and how fast to cut
• Place large sheets of raw metal onto machine and remove the sheets when they are cut
• Smooth the rough edges on the metal
• Setting offsets to make sure the cut is where it needs to be
• Reviews blueprints to understand the size and shape of the part you are making
• Meet quota or production rates
• Quality control for malfunctions and reports any issues to management

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 12 months

Physical:

• Moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Standing / Walking

Skills:

• Waterjet experience is a plus
• CAD programming to draw/adjust shapes the machine will cut
• Forklift
• Basic math skills- adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry and algebra
• Blueprint reading understanding
• Knowledge of using calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales
• Attention to detail
