Assembler

Spherion Williamsport is working to fill a 1st Shift, Assembler position in Beech Creek, PA. The pay rate is $17.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We are looking for hardworking Production Assemblers to join our team. In this role, you will build wooden trusses using your hands and tools. You will read instructions and use a tape measure to make sure every piece is cut and put together correctly. You will also help move materials, pack up finished goods, and keep the workspace clean.

What you'll do:

• Read and interpret tape measurements accurately to ensure precise cuts and proper assembly of materials.
• Support general labor duties such as moving materials, staging components, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and use tools and equipment properly to maintain a safe work environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and layout sheets to assemble components accurately.
• Safely use hand and power tools, including nail guns, saws, hammers, and heavy presses.
• Verify all angles, measurements, and connector plates meet exact engineering specifications and structural codes.
• Move, stack, and load lumber and finished trusses using forklifts or manual lifting.

Skills:

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to the 1/16th of an inch is strictly required.
• Prior construction or carpentry experience is highly preferred but not required.
