Production Assembler

Spherion Williamsport is hiring Processor's in Williamsport, PA. This position is 1st Shift, 7AM-5:30PM at $14/HR with weekly pay and benefits! Get overtime hours in every Friday!

Description:

If you have good attention to detail, join our team as a Processor today! This position helps efficient processing of materials required to satisfy customer orders.

What you'll do:

• Unload materials in preparation for processing and to re-load materials upon completion using a pallet jack or other equipment to move materials as needed.
• Place selected books into or onto appropriate containers/totes
• Stock and shelve inventory for future orders. Correct stocking errors as needed
• Performs the following functions as assigned as part of the processing of materials according to specific instructions and customer requirements:
• Pocketer - Glues kits into books according to process codes.
• Labeler - Attach labels to spines of books pulls dust covers from books.
• Sizer - Measures each book with a ruler and pulls a plastic jacket to fit each book.
• Inserter - Inserts dust cover into a plastic jacket, books without dust cover get protection tapes over the spine labels.
• Gluer - Glues or tapes jackets onto books according to process codes.
• Biller - Takes care of paperwork and checks the books for quality.
• Perform specials processing to include RFID, security tags, special labels as required by the customer.
• Maintain safe, clean and organized work areas.
• Cross training and substitution of tasks that may be of higher classification as required by supervision.

• High School diploma or equivalent

Physical:

• Must be able to work in a production environment that may be subject to varied temperatures and other conditions, such as noise (conveyor), dust and glue or adhesives.
• Must be able to stand/walk for 10 hour shifts and possess the ability to frequently bend and lift 35 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push book trucks weighing several hundred pounds.
• This position is subject to scheduled overtime which may be required based on production needs.

Skills:

• Finger dexterity and ability to measure and read a ruler
• Ability to read and follow written or verbal instructions, accurately count and have good eyesight
• Flexible to make appropriate decisions regarding safety in handling materials and respond to changing work environments
• Ability to work/communicate effectively and respectfully with the team
