3rd Shift Quality Technician

Spherion Sunbury is working to fill a 3rd Shift Quality Technician position in Montgomery, PA. The pay rate is $21.00 HOURLY.

Description:

We are looking for a reliable Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team in inspecting and testing food products at different stages of production to make sure they are safe, tasty, and meet company standards.

What you'll do:

• Inspect raw ingredients and finished goods to make sure they meet exact standards.
• Perform basic tests, such as checking weight, color, moisture, and package seals.
• Keep clean work areas and ensure all health and safety rules are followed on the factory floor.
• Collect sample products from the line to check for errors or defects.
• Write clear daily reports and let supervisors know right away if a batch does not pass inspection.

Skills:

• Computer Skills: Ability to use a computer to enter inspection data into spreadsheets, type reports, check email, and use simple company software.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to spot tiny flaws, color variations, damaged packaging, or slight deviations in product specs.
• Basic Math Skills: Strong understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and basic percentage calculations for measuring ingredients and weights.
• Measurement & Equipment Skills: Ability to read and use simple measuring tools, such as digital scales, calipers, moisture analyzers, and thermometers.
• Communication Skills: Clear spoken and written communication to explain defects to the production team and write daily inspection logs.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Rules: Familiarity with basic hygiene, sanitation protocols, and safety rules (like wearing hairnets and avoiding cross-contamination).
• Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to recognize when a process is going wrong and make quick decisions to stop a bad batch before it moves down the line.
