Spherion Sunbury is working to fill a 1st Shift, Sanitation Worker position in Montgomery, PA. The pay rate is $16.00 HOURLY.

Description:

We are seeking a reliable Sanitation Worker to focus entirely on maintaining clean and sanitized floors in our production areas. This role is strictly dedicated to floor care—no other facility or machine maintenance is required.

What you'll do:

• Sweep and Clear Debris: Remove food particles, trash, and loose material from production floors before washing.
• Scrub and Mop Floors: Perform routine and spot cleaning of production floors using mops, brushes, and sanitizing solutions.
• Operate Floor Equipment: Safely maneuver walk-behind floor scrubbers and floor steamers to deep clean and sanitize designated areas.
• Follow GMP and Safety Standards: Maintain strict food-safety hygiene (Good Manufacturing Practices), prevent cross-contamination, and wear required protective gear (such as slip-resistant rubber boots).
• Manage Cleaning Chemicals: Dilute and apply floor sanitizers and cleaning agents safely according to instructions.
• Maintain Floor Care Tools: Clean, rinse, and properly store mops, brushes, scrubbers, and steamers after each shift.
• Report Floor Hazards: Watch for damaged tiles, clogged floor drains, or excessive water buildup and notify supervisors promptly.

Education: No formal education required.

Experience:

Previous sanitation or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.

Physical:

• Heavy Lifting (50+ lbs),Moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs),Standing / Walking,Repetitive Motion,Bending / Stooping / Kneeling,Pushing / Pulling,Manual Dexterity,PPE Required (Noise / Chemical / Dust)

Skills:

• Tool Proficiency: Experience using manual cleaning tools (mops, scrub brushes).,Equipment Operation: Experience operating basic floor-cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, floor steamers).,Compliance & Safety: Ability to strictly follow GMP requirements and on-site instructions.
