Spherion Sunbury is currently hiring for Tire Technicians in Northumberland, PA. The pay rate is $15.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Job Description:

We are currently hiring for a Tire Technician in Northumberland, PA. This position will be mounting tires onto wheels and getting them prepped and ready to mounted onto vehicles. 

Responsibilities:

• Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels.
• Raise vehicles, using hydraulic jacks.
• Remount wheels onto vehicles.
• Locate punctures in tubeless tires by visual inspection or by immersing inflated tires in water baths and observing air bubbles.
• Reassemble tires onto wheels.
• Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
• Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels.
• Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes or tears.
• Separate tubed tires from wheels, using rubber mallets and metal bars or mechanical tire changers.
• Inflate inner tubes and immerse them in water to locate leaks.
• Buff defective areas of inner tubes, using scrapers.
• Identify tire size and ply and inflate tires accordingly.

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 6 months

General Labor, Ability to use hand tools and power tools

Related Experience: Warehouse, General Laborer, Tire Tech.
