Production Packaging Associate

Spherion State College is working to fill a 7 AM–7 PM Days to 7 PM–7 AM Nights, Production Packaging Associate position in Milesburg, PA. The pay rate is $20.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Packaging Associate to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will work at the end of our automated production lines, ensuring high-quality plastic bag products are inspected, counted, and packed efficiently. This position features a 2-2-3 schedule, meaning you only work 15 days a month with long weekends off every other week. This is a monthly swing shift, where you will work one month on Day Shift 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and the following month on Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).

What you'll do:

• Efficiently retrieve finished product from production lines, count or weigh them according to job specifications, and pack them neatly into designated shipping boxes or cartons.
• Perform continuous visual inspections of finished products for defects such as improper seals, color/print misalignment, incorrect sizing, or tears.
• Set up, tape, and prepare cardboard boxes for packing. Affix accurate product labels, barcodes, and tracking information to filled container's
• Keep the packaging area clean, organized, and free of debris or scrap in accordance with plant safety and manufacturing standards.
• Stack packed boxes onto pallets according to specified patterns, ensure stability, and wrap pallets securely using stretch wrap machines or manual dispensers.
• Assist machine operators during line changeovers, material loading, or troubleshooting to minimize production down time.
• Adhere strictly to all plant safety regulations, including the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots.

Education: High School

Skills:

• Precision in checking measurements, labels, and packaging integrity to minimize shipping delays and errors.
• Seamless communication with production line staff, warehouse supervisors, and inventory specialists to maintain high-volume workflows.
• Working with a sense of urgency to clear conveyor line jams, keep up with fast-paced assembly lines, and hit daily output targets.
