Spherion State College is working to fill a 1st Shift Monday - Friday, Administrative Office Assistant position in Lewistown, PA. The pay rate is $17.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Office Assistant to oversee day-to-day clerical functions and support our growing team. In this role, you will serve as the initial point of contact for visitors and handle vital tasks including file management, correspondence, and inventory upkeep. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who can effortlessly multitask in a fast-paced corporate environment.

What you'll do:

  • Process employee payroll accurately and on time.
  • Support the annual budget preparation and development process.
  • Manage excess funds, reserves, and investments with board permission.
  • Assist with annual audits and prepare required confirmation letters.
  • Compile and present monthly road and financial reports to leadership.
  • Attend meetings and take official, legally binding meeting minutes.
  • Prepare agendas and administrative folders for the Board of Supervisors.
  • Prepare, advertise, and coordinate legal reviews for upcoming ordinances.
  • Process and issue building, zoning, and highway occupancy permits.
  • Facilitate subdivision reviews between external agencies and developers.
  • Prepare and submit competitive government grant applications for funding.
  • Secure and update highly confidential municipal personnel files.

Education: High School

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Training in office skills or related experience.

Experience: 24 months

Able to use computer, typewriter, copier, facsimile and adding machine
