Spherion State College is working to fill a 2nd Shift, Assembly Technician position in State College, PA. The pay rate is $19.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

The Assembly Technician position involves executing kiln and post-kiln manufacturing tasks under a compressed workweek schedule. This role focuses heavily on the inspection, setup, and processing of ceramic and metal components.

What you'll do:

  • Examine manufacturing components for micro-defects using microscopes.
  • Escalate flagged product issues directly to area leads or supervisors.
  • Review and carefully follow daily engineering and work specification
  • Prepare standard daily work areas and manage tools.
  • Track and log work order movement and outputs into the production software.
  • Handle pre-kiln and post-kiln staging and material handling.
  • Keep work areas clean and compliant with corporate safety protocols.

Education: High School

  • High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.

Experience: 12 months

Minimum of 1 year in manufacturing or production environments., Comfortable working around ceramics, solvents, dust, and raw metals

  • Moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs)

Skills:

  • Safe handling and staging of materials during both the pre-kiln and post-kiln manufacturing phases.

  • Clear communication skills to immediately flag and report product issues to area leads or supervisors.
  • Precision-oriented mindset necessary for identifying microscopic imperfections and maintaining quality standards.
