Spherion State College is working with a client in their search to fill a 2nd Shift, Tool Room Machinist position in Philipsburg, PA. The pay rate is $17.50 HOURLY.
Description:
Performs typical machine shop and mold press operations to support production.
What you'll do:
- Performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, and de-burring tasks.
- Assists with machine set-up.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education: High School
- HS or GED, vocational training desired
Experience: 12 months
At least one year experience in a factory machine shop., Or an equivalent combination of education and experience., Alternate education and experience considered based on individual candidate.Physical:
- Most of the work accomplished while standing, although some sitting is involved.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Appropriate safety gear must be word as needed.
- Standing, up to 2 hours per workday
Skills:
- Competent in various machine functions.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools.
- Ability to perform simple shop math.
