Spherion State College is working to fill a 2nd Shift, Penn State Building Custodian position in University Park, PA. The pay rate is $14.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Janitor to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and general upkeep of our facility. In this role, you will perform routine cleaning, sanitation, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

What you'll do:

• Sweep, dust, wet mop, and vacuum floors, rugs, and stairways.
• Strip, seal, buff, and wax floors or shampoo large carpets.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, pressure-wash locker rooms, and restock soap and paper dispensers.
• Collect and empty trash, recycling, and debris from work areas.
• Wash interior/exterior windows, walls, light fixtures, and chalkboards.
• Replace light bulbs, ballasts, starters, and window screens.
• Set up and tear down chairs, tables, and stages for scheduled events.
• Shovel snow, chop ice, and spread anti-skid materials on walkways.
• Lock doors, secure windows, turn off lights, and report maintenance issues to supervisors.

Education: No formal education required.
