Janitorial Worker (PENN STATE UNIVERSITY)

Spherion State College is working to fill a 1st Shift, Janitorial Worker (PENN STATE UNIVERSITY) position in University Park, PA. The pay rate is $14.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Penn State University. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for our [staff/students/customers]. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work and can operate independently.

What you'll do:

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect restrooms and break rooms.
• Empty trash and recycling bins daily; ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Dust furniture, wipe down windows/glass, and sanitize high-touch surfaces (doorknobs, light switches).
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restock is needed.
• Report any safety hazards or needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Perform light maintenance (e.g., changing lightbulbs) as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and handle cleaning chemicals properly.

Education: No formal education required.

• Moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs)
