Spherion State College is working to fill a 1st Shift, Penn State Building Custodian position in University Park, PA. The pay rate is $14.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

A Building Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of a facility. Their core duties include sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, sanitizing restrooms, managing waste disposal, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring the building is properly secured at the end of each shift

What you'll do:

• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing various types of flooring (tile, wood, carpet).
• Thoroughly cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking restrooms with toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
• Dusting furniture and fixtures, wiping down walls, and cleaning interior and exterior windows and mirror's.
• Emptying trash and recycling receptacles, bagging waste, and transporting it to designated disposal areas.
• Handling basic building maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues, or repairing simple fixtures.
• Changing air filters and cleaning vents to maintain indoor air quality.
• Identifying and notifying management of larger-scale maintenance requirements or building damage.
