Picker/Packer

Spherion State College is working to fill a 2nd Shift, Picker/Packer position in Alexandria, PA. The pay rate is $15.00 HOURLY. This position is entry-level. No experience is necessary. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

You will be doing hand packing of varying sizes of notebooks and paper products, as well as packing/feeding machines. This will require a lot of standing, kneeling, bending, and stacking. You may also be required to use permanent markers to mark boxes. If you are unable to perform any of these tasks, please notify your temp agency representative as soon as possible.

What you'll do:

• Pick customer orders accurately according to pick lists.
• Pack loose items into master cartons, count, stack, and wrap products.
• Label cartons and pallets, process UPS/FedEx shipments, and prepare products for loading.
• Inspect product quality and quantity, verify inventory levels, and move finished goods to designated areas.
• Comply with safety policies (e.g., hearing protection), keep the work area clean, and report any discrepancies.
• Utilize computers or scanners to update inventory and shipping systems

Education: High School

• HS or GED

Physical:

• Must be able to handle, lift, and stack cartons, often requiring lifting up to 40-50 lbs.

Skills:

• Basic arithmetic, attention to detail, and computer familiarity.
