Spherion in Johnstown is working with a client to fill a temporary position as an Accounting Generalist. This is a temporary position lasting 4-6 months, Monday-Friday at $20 per hour. Work days and hours are subject to changed based on the needs of the department.

Description:

The Accounting Generalist will perform assigned duties within the accounting department, related to the Inclined Plane, fuel, inventory, bank deposits, and county billing.

What you'll do:

• Compile and maintain accounting records for the Inclined Plane operations
• prepare financial and statistical reports for the Inclined Plane
• Complete inventory counts at all locations
• Research inventory variances
• Perform daily cash room functions
• Deposit all checks
• Prepare fuel reports
• Prepare county fuel and maintenance invoices
• Other duties as assigned

Education: Associate Degree

• A minimum of an Associate's degree in Accounting is required

Experience: 24 months

2 years of accounting-related experience is preferred

Physical:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds
• Ability to push and pull up to 10 pounds

Skills:

• Basic understanding of accounting functions, clerical, and administrative procedures
• Knowledge of cash register functions and reports
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data into computer software and systems
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
