Spherion Greensburg is working with a client in their search to fill a 2nd Shift, Lathe Machinist position in Saltsburg, PA. The pay rate is $31.70 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Lathe Machinist to join our team on the 2nd shift. In this job, you will use a lathe machine to shape and cut metal parts. You must know how to read blueprints and use measuring tools. Safety, accuracy, and teamwork are very important in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate lathe machines
- Read and follow blueprints or job instructions
- Measure parts with calipers, gauges, and other tools
- Make sure parts meet size and quality standards
- Keep your work area clean and safe
- Work with your team and report any problems
- Follow all safety rules
Education: High School
Experience: 36 months
3+ years of experience running a lathe machine, Able to read blueprints and measuring tools, Good attention to detail, Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs, High school diploma or GED preferred, Must be reliable and on timeSkills:
- Must be able to work effectively with Tool & Die makers, engineering, and production personnel to meet production and maintenance needs.
- Must have experience in operation of lathes, mills, grinders, and presses.
- Must pass a qualification test before being awarded bid.
- Journeyman papers not required.
