Spherion Erie is working with a client in their search to fill a 2nd Shift, CNC Machinist (Computer Numerically Controlled Machinist) position in Erie, PA. The pay rate is $18.00 to $22.00 HOURLY DOE. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

This local company is currently seeking CNC Machinists to operate horizontal boring mills, vertical mills and bridge mills.

What you'll do:

• Setup and remove work pieces from machines and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, using measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers. 
• Observe machine operation and adjust controls to ensure conformance with specified tolerances. 
• Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to assess work piece specifications and to determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.
• Move controls to set cutting specifications, to position cutting tools and work pieces in relation to each other.

Education: No formal education required.

Experience: 12 months

EXCEPTIONAL WORK TENURE IS A MUST!

Physical:

• Must be able to stand for long periods
• Eye for detail

Skills:

• Two or more years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• G-Code or programming experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of arithmetic, fractions, decimals and basic trigonometry and their applications.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents and shop drawings.
