Lay Up Technician

Spherion Erie is working with a client in their search to fill a 1st Shift, Lay Up Technician position in Erie, PA. The pay rate is $15.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

As a Lay Up Tecnician you will set up, operate, or tend more than one type of cutting or forming machine tool or robot.

What you'll do:

• Lay Up Technician Responsibilities include:
  • Assemble composite tables using adhesives and other methods.
  • Read prints and operate standard measuring tools to measure and cut needed materials.
  • Make up vacuum bags and bag components for the autoclave.
  • Assemble foam and components assuring that fit and function meet requirements

  Education: High School

  Experience: 6 months

  Basic computer skills, Basic knowledge of PDM Works preferred, Knowledge of Shop Flow

  Physical:

  • Must be able to stand for their whole shift 

  Skills:

  • Pays attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Independently motivated and organized
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (anything over requires 2 people or lift device)
  • Must be able to stand for entire shift (except during break time)

  Related Experience: Composite Manufacturing, Machine Operation, Adhesive Application, Production Technician, Quality Control
