We are searching for a full time, Direct Hire, 2nd shift Machinist/Gear Cutter for our customer in Punxsutawney, PA to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
You will train on first shift until ready, then move to second shift 3p-1a M-TH with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off
Description:
Be able to Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or Vernier calipers.
What you'll do:
- • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers.
- • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
- • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to display placement of cuts.
- • Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools.
- • Program PLC'S , vertical and horizontal milling machines
- • Have experience utilizing an ERP system
- • Ability to dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
- • Ability to install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment.
Education: High School
Experience: 36 months
3 plus years of manual machiningRelated Experience: manual machinist, cnc machinist, cnc programmer
