Spherion Connellsville is working to fill a 3rd Shift, Welder position in Brier Hill, PA. The pay rate is $24.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

The ability to work as part of an integrated team and be self-motivated is highly recommended. The qualified candidate will demonstrate effective customer relations, active listening skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The flexibility to work overtime is required.

What you'll do:

• Weld metal parts: Use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to build and repair heavy steel parts for mining machines.
• Read blueprints: Follow blueprints and drawings to make sure parts are cut and welded to the right size.
• Inspect your work: Check welds to make sure they are strong, clean, and free of defects.
• Use shop tools: Safely operate grinders, plasma cutters, and other metalworking tools.
• Stay safe: Follow all safety rules, keep your work area clean, and wear required safety gear (like welding helmets, gloves, and steel-toe boots).

Education: High School

Experience: 36 months

The ideal candidate will possess a technical diploma or certification in welding with a minimum of 3 years of related experience with industry specific equipment.

Physical:

• Heavy Lifting (50+ lbs)
• Standing / Walking
• Bending / Stooping / Kneeling
• Hot Environments
• PPE Required (Noise / Chemical / Dust)

Skills:

• At least 3 years of welding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Good physical strength - you should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Strong focus on safety and doing high-quality work.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but relevant trade school or job experience counts, too.
