Welder

Spherion Connellsville is working to fill a 1st Shift, Welder position in New Salem, PA. The pay rate is $19.50 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

We build and fix heavy equipment used in mines across the country. We are looking for a reliable Welder to join our team. If you like working with metal and building tough machines, this job is for you!

What you'll do:

• Weld metal parts: Use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding to build and repair heavy steel parts for mining machines.
• Read blueprints: Follow blueprints and drawings to make sure parts are cut and welded to the right size.
• Inspect your work: Check welds to make sure they are strong, clean, and free of defects.
• Use shop tools: Safely operate grinders, plasma cutters, and other metalworking tools.
• Stay safe: Follow all safety rules, keep your work area clean, and wear required safety gear (like welding helmets, gloves, and steel-toe boots).

Education: High School

Experience: 24 months

Physical:

• Heavy Lifting (50+ lbs)
• Standing / Walking
• Bending / Stooping / Kneeling
• Hot Environments
• PPE Required (Noise / Chemical / Dust)

Skills:

• At least 1 to 2 years of welding experience (experience with heavy equipment or steel is a plus!).
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Good physical strength—you should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Strong focus on safety and doing high-quality work.
• High school diploma or GED preferred, but relevant trade school or job experience counts too.
