Spherion Bedford is working to fill a 3rd Shift, Brake Press Operator position in Bedford, PA. The pay rate is $21.57 HOURLY.

Description:

As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating all sizes of press brakes.

What you'll do:

• Chooses, installs, and precisely aligns dies within the press brake ram and bed.
• Secures dies in place by tightening set screws or bolts on the clamp bar.
• Creates and saves part programs within the machine system.
• Interprets blueprints to mark or lay out workpieces accordingly.
• Positions materials either manually or by using a crane.
• Operates the machine by engaging the ram (via controls or foot pedal) to bend or cut metal components.
• Inspects finished pieces to ensure measurements meet specifications and adjusts settings as needed.
• Independently identifies correct dies, setups, gauge configurations, and ram stroke adjustments to produce parts at required angles and lengths without relying on written instructions.
• Determines the correct forming sequence for multi-step parts without documented guidance.
• Develops work instructions after establishing a successful part setup.
• Utilizes precision measuring tools such as verniers, protractors, indicators, and radius gauges.
