Spherion Altoona is working to fill a 1st and 2nd Shifts, Machine Operator position in Altoona, PA. The pay rate is $37.22 HOURLY. This position will be a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.
Description:
The Mix Baker operates and monitors mixing equipment to prepare dough for pretzel production, ensuring accurate weights, proper dough consistency, product quality, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
What you'll do:
- Operate mixers, extruders, ingredient scales, and related equipment.
- Record weights every 15 minutes and accurately complete production logs and computer entries.
- Track ingredients, lot numbers, and dough waste.
- Assist with extruder changeovers and authorized equipment setup.
- Clean and sanitize mixers, extruders, tools, and work areas.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, quality, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Education: High School
- One year of experience in production baking or food processing preferred.
- Basic reading, math, computer, and recordkeeping skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of baking processes.
Experience: 12 months
