Spherion Altoona is working to fill a Weekend 1st Shift, Head Baker position in Altoona, PA. The pay rate is $30.45 HOURLY. This position will be a DIRECT HIRE opportunity.

Description:

The Head Baker oversees mixing, baking, and oven operations to ensure product quality, safety, and consistency according to companies standards. This role monitors equipment, adjusts production processes, maintains accurate records, and ensures compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements.

What you'll do:

• Operate and monitor mixers, extruders, ovens, and related equipment.
• Prepare dough, manage ingredients, and maintain proper product weights and shapes.
• Adjust oven settings based on product requirements and environmental conditions.
• Complete required production, ingredient, weight, moisture, and quality records accurately.
• Perform equipment changeovers, cleaning, sanitation, and allergen-control procedures.
• Follow all food safety, quality, sanitation, and lockout/tagout procedures.

Education: High School

Experience: 12 months

At least one year of experience in production baking or food production.

Physical:

• Hot Environments
• Bending / Stooping / Kneeling
• Moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs)
• Standing / Walking

Skills:

• Strong reading, math, computer, and recordkeeping skills.
• Knowledge of baking processes, production equipment, and food safety standards.
