Spherion Altoona is working to fill a 3rd Shift, Baler position in Claysburg, PA. The pay rate is $20.80 HOURLY.
Description:
The Baler Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining baling equipment used to compress recyclable or waste materials such as cardboard, plastics, paper, or metals. This role ensures efficient material processing while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
What you'll do:
- Operate balers and related equipment according to safety and operational procedures
- Load materials into the baler and remove finished bales
- Tie, weigh, label, and stage bales for storage or shipment
- Inspect equipment before and during operation to ensure proper function
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of baler equipment
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors
- Maintain accurate records of materials processed, when required
- Keep work area clean and free of hazards Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines
- Assist with other warehouse or facility duties as assigned
