Spherion Johnstown is working with a client in their search to fill a 1st Shift, Accountant position in Johnstown, PA. The pay rate is $32.00 HOURLY. This is a Temp to Hire opportunity.

Description:

Examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements, give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others. Install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data.

What you'll do:

  • The Job Responsibilities for the Account position are as follows:
  • Assists in preparing the state budget
  • Assists in preparing the county budget
  • Posts all placement invoices from service providers to QuickBooks/CAPS
  • Prepares and submits Federal IV-E invoices
  • Assists in preparing the fiscal forms for the agency's annual plan prepared for the Department of Public Welfare
  • Develops fiscal manuals for agency reflecting all governing regulations for state and federal programs as well as detailed instructions for carrying out the fiscal demands of the agency regarding paperwork related to placements and invoicing of placement costs.
  • Assists in preparing general ledger reports and trial balances
  • Assists in preparing journal entries and budget modifications
  • Cost allocates placement expenditures for quarterly report
  • Reconciles the posting of the client income and revenue to general ledger accounts
  • Conducts internal audit of petty cash fund
  • Pulls and analyzes reports from the County's Eden Accounting System
  • Prepares income calculation worksheet and review necessary documents before cases are sent to the County Assistance Office
  • Completes Status Control Log for each child in placement for audit purposes
  • Determines Title IV-E Eligibility Status for Juvenile Probation clients and maintains Title IV-E eligibility spreadsheet
  • Invoices attorneys for caseworkers subpoenaed to testify at custody and Domestic Relations hearings
  • Trains fiscal technicians
  • Oversees and verifies the completion of all Service Provider Contract files
  • Pulls and gathers information for the Auditor General's Office
  • Other duties as may be required

Education: Bachelor Degree

  • Must have at least 15 higher education credits towards an Accounting Degree to be considered!
