Spherion is hiring a Certified Peer Specialist to work in Bentleyville on a part time basis, but overtime/shift hours are always available! This position is a Direct Hire opportunity, paying between $15-17/hr.
Description:
As a Certified Peer Specialist, the advocates will assist individuals in treatment & help them prepare for regaining community living. This is a great opportunity for individuals with a mental health and/or substance use recovery history. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will assist the individuals by promoting growth, recovery and wellness.
What you'll do:
- Serve as an advocate for the individuals with mental health
- Assist with any needed support and information
- Identify goals with the individuals
- Provide public information for services, educational opportunities, and vocational skills
- Coordinate groups on a weekly basis
- Meet weekly with the treatment team and monthly internal meetings
Education: High School
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: 6 months
Must have successfully completed a 2 week Department of Human Services or with Mental Health & Substance Abuse program, Be a Certified Peer Specialist, Completed 75 hours of peer training, Passed the PA Certification Board exam, This position requires an additional 18 hours of training each year, 12 of those hours must focus on peer support and/or recovery support, Documentation skills
